KnowYourFuel.in provides estimates and general guidance only. Our tools and articles are not a substitute for your vehicle's owner manual or advice from an authorised dealer, mechanic, insurer or the manufacturer.

How our tools work

The E20 Compatibility Checker gives a verdict based primarily on India's E20 rollout timeline and your vehicle's manufacturing year. It is a helpful first indicator, not a manufacturer certification. The Mileage & Cost Calculator produces estimates from the numbers you enter; real mileage depends on many factors beyond fuel.

Sources and accuracy

We rely on publicly available information - including from ARAI, the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, SIAM, vehicle manufacturers, and reputable news and survey organisations. This information can change, and some figures (especially owner-reported survey data) are estimates. We may not always be fully up to date.

Official testing vs surveys vs citizen feedback

  • Official / lab figures (e.g. ARAI, MoPNG FAQs, SIAM) are attributed as such.
  • Owner surveys (e.g. LocalCircles) are self-reported and unverified. They are not MoPNG or ARAI official findings and may not represent all drivers.
  • Citizen Feedback Tracker entries are voluntary, anonymous and unverified. They are not government complaint counts.

We do not claim unverified engine damage as fact. Where we discuss materials wear (e.g. some rubber parts on older vehicles), we follow publicly stated ARAI/OEM caveats.

No personal allegations

KnowYourFuel.in does not allege misconduct by public officials or political parties. We summarise publicly attributed policy and technical statements from ministries, testing agencies and OEMs. Please do not use our complaint letter tool to make unverified accusations against individuals.
