E20 Compatibility Checker
Find out if your car or bike is built for E20 petrol. Choose your vehicle below - we'll give you a clear verdict and exactly what to do next.
How E20 compatibility works in India
In India, the clearest public signal of whether a petrol vehicle is designed for E20 is its manufacturing year. Here's the timeline the checker uses:
- 2025 onwards - E20 tuned: engines are calibrated specifically for E20. Nothing extra to do.
- April 2023 to 2024 - E20 material-compliant: fuel-system parts are rated for E20, so the fuel is safe to use.
- Before April 2023 - designed for E10/E5: the government, ARAI and manufacturers (e.g. Maruti Suzuki) say E20 is safe to use in these vehicles. Expect a marginal mileage drop (officially ~3–6%) and possibly a one-time, inexpensive replacement of some rubber fuel-system parts.
Roughly 75–80% of the vehicles on Indian roads were manufactured before the E20 transition - which is why so many owners are asking these questions.
Why we don't just say "yes" or "no"
Manufacturers publish compatibility in each vehicle's owner manual, and details vary by model and variant. Our checker gives you an evidence-based verdict from the national E20 timeline, then always points you back to your manual or authorised dealer for a final confirmation. That's the honest way to answer a question that affects your money and your vehicle.
Results are guidance based on public information, not a manufacturer guarantee. Always confirm E20 compatibility with your owner's manual or an authorised dealer.
