Cars E20 compatible cars

How to know if my car is E20 compatible

There isn't a single official public list of every E20-compatible car model - compatibility is stated in each car's owner manual. But there's a reliable rule of thumb based on manufacturing year, plus a free checker for your exact make and model.

Rule of thumb: Cars manufactured from about April 2023 are generally E20 material-compliant, and cars from 2025 onwards are often E20-tuned. Cars made before April 2023 were designed for E10.

Example: is Baleno 2024 model E20 compliant?

A 2024 Maruti Suzuki Baleno sits in the E20 material-compliant window under India's national timeline (about April 2023 through 2024). Our checker treats calendar year 2023-2024 as that cohort - it is a heuristic, not a VIN certificate. Confirm the fuel section in your Baleno owner's manual, or run Baleno + 2024 in the free checker.

Popular makes and the transition

Leading manufacturers selling E20-ready cars in India include Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra, Toyota, Honda, Kia, Volkswagen, Skoda, Renault, Nissan and MG. Newer models and recent variants of popular cars - such as the Swift, Baleno, Fronx, Creta, Venue, Nexon, Punch, XUV700, Scorpio-N and City - are built to run on E20. Always confirm your specific variant and year, as the same model spans both E10 and E20 generations.

How to confirm your exact car

  1. Owner's manual - look for the "fuel" or "fuel recommendation" section; it states the maximum ethanol blend.
  2. Fuel-flap / filler sticker - some cars note "E20 compatible."
  3. Authorised dealer - they can confirm by VIN/chassis number.
  4. Our free checker - the fastest first step.
